Reviews
This courtyard Japanese restaurant has been around since the 90s serving up some freshly made, good quality, and no frills Japanese that’s affordable and tastes great.
I’ve been coming over the years and I’ve never been disappointed with the food or service.
The venue itself is a bit old and run down. But the food definitely makes up for it.
Service is sweet and friendly. But there’s no table service, you have to order and pay at the bar.
No complaints though, cause it’s all about the food for me.
Quality Japanese food that won't break your wallet in the heart of King Street at Newtown!
My husband and I ordered the deluxe bento and it didn't disappoint. Generous serving! My favorite was the wasabi salmon chips! The service was good but we waited quite a bit for the food to come.
Awesome Japanese food indeed!
We got delivery and there was no care taken to ensure no leakage. The chilli pork Bento Box leaked all over the bag.
Otherwise good was ok
Order had to be thrown away as it was spoiled on delivery. The delivery driver only took 4 minutes from the store, yet upon receipt the sashimi was sweaty, warm to touch, had a foul off odour, and my digital probe registered the raw seafood above ambient room temperature. This means it must have left the store in this state. You're a sushi/sashimi restaurant and this is food safety 101, absolutely unacceptable.
Had a great dinner, the food was authentic. Loved the curry and noodle.
The restaurant doesn’t looks beautiful but the food is beautiful.
It tastes really nice and the portion is big for not too high price.
The niku udon comes with a lot meat.
Recommend this restaurant
Went here with a friend to try out the food last October 2023. Called beforehand if I needed to reserve as I knew it can get busy. They said no need as there's only the two of us. Came early and got a table. Started ordering and it took an HOUR to get our first batch of food. 30 minutes before, we realised it would take ages so we ordered more food. The rest of our food never came after being in there waiting for 3 hours. We were wondering why everyone else was getting served first. When we followed up our order, we were told they sold out of our second batch of orders. If we didn't follow up, we would have been waiting for nothing. BAD SERVICE.
A small family-owned Japanese restaurant tucked in the alleyway of the busy King Street. There was only two wait staff during peak hours so be aware for long wait times because they were very busy with deliveries. I recommend ordering the dishes all at once and making your way to the counter for quicker service. Most food came after 30-45 minutes after except for the seaweed salad. However I was amazed at the food quality and how generous the servings were. Very delicious and have a homey feel to them. Would definitely come back again.
